During my firt year of the Msc. Media Technology (2008) I did a small project with fellow student Martijn Walraven. Together we invested a new way to what we think could improve teaching with presentational software. By using an advanced clicker the user can perform the basic actions and more without looking to the presentation screen or the computer. See our paper at page 21 of the ChiNL2009 published papers or at the Media Technology website.
But before reading I would like to tell that we performed our project in 2008, before Apple came with keyNote remote! Therefore some elements may look not as new as it was to us back then, but still for us it was really great to see that Apple had a lot of the same ideas as we do!

Though at first sight our idea and Apple’s look a lot the same, but the  similarities stop at the basics. In 2009 we went further with our concept we now call Slideflow. We invested more time in allowing the user to stray away from a pre-set path and to be better able to adapt to the audience. We showed our first results at our presentation at the ChiNL2009. There we use an iPhone and iPod Touch simultaneously and even switch between different presentations without using the computer.

We are now looking more into expanding this functionality and into making our prototype a robust application. (But we currently have no real plans into publishing our application as it still is in an alpha stage.)
In the future I will publish more about our ideas with Slideflow and some images or movies.
